API Specifications Conference [Virtual Event]

About

OpenAPI Initiative’s API Specifications Conference (ASC) is a place for API practitioners to come together and discuss the evolution of API technology. ASC includes cutting edge technology keynotes and sessions that chart the future of APIs with in-depth specification and standards discussions. The event is designed to be highly interactive with plenty of discussion time throughout the sessions.

OpenAPI Specifications, RAML, Blueprint, gRPC, OData, JSON Schema, GraphQL, AsyncAPI and other formats will all be topics at the event, enabling attendees to get familiar with these formats and discuss how to use them in practice.

Session Abstract
OpenAPI definitions are traditionally used to expose the API functionality to customers. But a wave of tools have emerged in the past year that allow to test and secure APIs automatically from OpenAPI definitions.

In this talk, we explain why the OpenAPI specs are suited for security and present a set of tools you can leverage today to make your APIs more robust to attacks, and this starting at design time.

What you will learn:
– Security options and why they matter
– Defining the interface: why you must specify everything.
– Why you need to take control of your schemas
– Why specifying responses thoroughly matters
